Your question may be moved

Your question may be moved to the Consumer Questions Discussion Forum because you have not updated your user page to provide any information about your level of experience/background as a professional tax preparer. As a result, your question may be perceived as not complying with the guidelines established for TaxAlmanac and the tax forum, which are intended for use by tax professionals only. (This is consistent with the info in Step 2 of the four steps to "asking a new tax question.)

If you are a tax professional, please update your profile (user page), to provide some info about your experience level/background as a tax professional. Select edit at the top of that page, replace the boilerplate with your info, and then click Save page.

Your level of experience may be an important consideration when users are developing an appropriate answer for your questions. And, as you’ve seen, having no profile leaves your question subject to being moved out of the professional tax forum. (Once your profile has been updated, one of the moderators can move your question back to the professional tax forum if that’s appropriate.)

Note – updating your profile is just one of the four steps in “asking a new tax question” – if you skipped any of the other steps as well (e.g., searching the archives, familiarizing yourself with TaxAlmanac), please do that now, too.

If you are not a tax professional, please ask your question on the TurboTax website or consult your tax advisor. If you don't have a tax profesional that you work with regularly, information about finding a local tax advisor can be found here: How to find a local Tax Professional.

Your question has been moved

Seriously - how many of the 4 steps on this page did you actually read before jumping to the bottom?

Your question has been moved to the Consumer Questions Discussion Forum because it does not appear to comply with the guidelines established for TaxAlmanac and the tax forum, which are intended for use by tax professionals only; the info on the profile is one of the primary factors used in that decision. Also, when it's clear that information from the archives that should have been helpful in narrowing down the question was either not used or was not understood, that tends to be another factor used in the decision to move questions. That's actually why those two things are step 1 and step 2 in the process.

If you are not a tax professional, please ask your question on the TurboTax website: www.Turbotax.com.

If you are a tax professional, please complete your profile (user page) to provide some info about your experience level/background as a tax professional. Select edit at the top of that page, replace the boilerplate with your info, and then click Save page.

Your level of experience may be an important consideration when users are developing an appropriate answer for your questions. Beyond that, though, some users won’t respond at all if your profile hasn’t been updated, and as you’ve seen, having no profile leaves your question subject to being moved out of the professional tax forum. (Once your profile has been updated, one of the moderators can move your question back to the professional tax forum if that’s appropriate. Don't start a duplicate discussion, as it'll just have to be deleted.)

ADBCPA

When you amended the return for SE Tax did you provide much detail or just brief explanation with amended return?

Thanks CPAhardway

Your question has been moved, as before

Your question has been moved because you have not gone through ALL FOUR STEPS as requested numerous times.

Until you update your user page to indicate whether or not you are a tax professional, you will assumed to be a non-pro. Since you are not a professional tax preparer, I would ask that you please respect the purpose of this website, which is for tax professionals only. There are other websites that do not limit participation to tax pros only, and that do not request that tax pros put info about their level of experience and background on their user pages. Please use those websites from now on. To start with, I'd recommend the turbotax community: www.Turbotax.com or https://ttlc.intuit.com/app/full_page.
